Metallic words from another grisly vision
Hums in my heads like the sound of a spaceship
There’s no harm done
After David spikes the last remaining pints
A sincere gift given in earnest
‘To be honest boys, I think you deserve this’
That much is true.
Think we lost the connection
Around 3 or 4, I really can’t be sure
I slip so quickly, it’s hard to tell
Exactly when or where it all goes wrong
I get into the wrong car
Speaking to the wrong man
Still come out with the stuff I came in for
There’s no harm done
And if anything, we’re all the better for it
Spread so thick our pockets our bulging
There’s no love lost losing gear in the Leadmill
Or so I assume
Think we lost the connection
Around 3 or 4, I really can’t be sure
I slip so quickly, it’s hard to tell
Exactly when or where it all goes wrong

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer

Terrific, marauding post-punk that will thrill fans of Idles with its pairing of cutting riffs and wry spoken/sung lyrics. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 26, 2022
